Programme Duration

Admission Fees for July 2026 Session

The admission fees for Master’s programmes vary by course. The fees listed below are for the first semester of the July 2026 session. For MA in History, the fee for the 2nd semester onwards is Rs 6,150.00, with a total programme fee of Rs 24,700 (excluding project/dissertation fee).

Admission to Master’s programmes at KKHSOU is conducted online for the July and January cycles. The online admission portal is open daily from 6 AM to 11:59 PM.

Mode of Study

Most Master’s programmes at KKHSOU, such as the MA in History, are offered in distance mode. The university is also launching fully online M.A. programmes in Assamese and English, with more online programmes planned for the future.

Syllabus Overview

The curriculum for Master’s programmes at KKHSOU is designed to meet the standards of higher education. Detailed course-wise syllabi are available for individual programmes. For example, the MA in English programme includes a detailed syllabus covering various literary topics.

The MA English Programme comprises 4 courses in each semester, each carrying 100 marks. All courses are compulsory, with optional courses offered only in the 4th semester where learners can opt for one course from any two. As of now, the MA English Programme does not have a provision for Project Study.

Fee Refund Policy

KKHSOU adheres to the University Grants Commission (UGC) Fee Refund Policy. This policy, issued for the academic session 2024-25, remains in force for subsequent academic sessions until a revised policy is issued by the UGC.

For the academic session 2024-25, a full refund of fees was applicable for cancellations of admissions up to 30 September 2024. A deduction of not more than Rs. 1,000 as a processing fee was applicable for withdrawals up to 31 October 2024. For admission schedules extending beyond 31 October 2024, the provisions of the UGC Notification issued in October 2018 on Refund of Fees apply. KKHSOU has not published specific refund dates for the July 2026 session as of 03 October 2026.
